The applied standard test procedure enables comparison between different vehicle types and different manufacturers. In addition to the fuel efficiency of a car, driving behaviour as well as other non-technical factors play a role in determining a car's fuel/energy consumption, CO2 emissions and electric range.
1.5 TDCi have issues with timing belts failing prematurely/excessive wear so if it's near 75-80k miles I would get it done. Ford are now also mandating replacing the high pressure fuel pump sprocket as part of the job. 73k on it now, was going to wait another 10k-ish which is still well inside the 'official' interval.
